Teachers aren’t to blame for education’s ills, we are

Over dinner with friends last evening (one of whom is a teacher–she and I went through the same teacher education program together in college back in the mid-90s), we discussed the teacher bashing in our society right now. We discussed how we hope that the tide will turn one of these days. Maybe soon we’ll stop hearing in the media and from policy makers about how education will improve if only we can hold those lazy, incompetent teachers accountable.
